IMPHAL, March 1: The Manipur Science and Technology Council, (MASTEC) Imphal has organized a training programme under the banner `Contact Programme for Talented SC&ST Girl Students` at the Training Hall of the directorate of arts & culture, Palace compound, Imphal.
The programme which commence from today will conclude on March 10. It is supported by National Council for Science and Technology, DST, Government of India.
Altogether 30 participants from six different schools including HM Higher Secondary School, Keithelmanbi Sadar hills, L.A English School Ukhrul, Donbosco High School, Phayeng Imphal West, Vale Academy Ghari, Victory High School Kakching, Chil Chil Asian Mission School, Kanglatombi are taking part in the programme.
Professor N. Rajmuhon Singh, Chemistry Dept. MU, Th. Surendranath Singh, executive director MASTEC, Dr. S. Dorendro Singh, HOD Physics department, MU, Somorjit Singh, Lecturer, Department of Botany, MU took part during the inaugural function of the training programme today as presidium members.
The programme aims in giving the students an exposure to the exciting world of Science and motivating them to take up science as a career. The programme includes visiting various laboratories, interaction with scientist, science elocution on science topics, popular science talks, hands on project etc.
