From KaimuanthangLamka Mar 17: The Zougal Satni anniversary, a traditional festivals of the Zos was celebrated at Zogal memorial hall today with gusto ,leaders who died fighting against the British in 1917 were remembered with honor.
The Zomi Council chairman LB Sona, Sangkhuma Mizo Peoples Convention, MPC, president, Tongzathang President Kuki Inpi, Ccpur and Ginsuanhau UZO President acted as the Chief guest, Guest of honour, Functional President as well as Chief Host of the programmes respectively.
The programme was marked by a traditional extravaganza, choreographic display, hiphop dance from youngsters besides music artists rocking the audiance.
During his speech,the chief guest exhorted the gatherings,expressing hope that there will be prevalence of love and unity among the ZOU for future development and progress.
He said the Zous are now on the road to development.
In another development the sericulture department of the Ccpur observed reception programmes of the 5 member post evaluation team at the residence of the Director of Sericulture, Manipur located at Salem Veng today.
Langkhanpau Guiote Chairman of the ADC,Ccpur was the chief guest. Dr Sarat Chandra Director, (Tech) Central Silk Board Ministry of textiles Bangalore during his speech pointed out the need for providing extensive training to the Silk farmers of the state while adding that the climate of the state is quite suitable for the growth of silk industry.
