IMPHAL, April 18: Supply of drinking water will face water scarcity following fall of water level at Singda Dam and slimming flow of water in Leimakhong river. Executive engineer of water supply maintainence division I in a notification today stated that consequent to fall of water level, treatment plants at Kangchup and Singda were having scarcity of water.
Zonal reservoirs covered by the Kangchup plant i.e. Nepra Menjor, Irom Pukhri, Sangaiprou and CHingtham Leikai and Singda Plant i.e Cheiraoching, Lalambung and Manipur Legislative Assembly complex would be seriously affected and appealed the consumers to bear with the department and use water economically during such lean period stated the notification.
