IMPHAL, April 11: The troops 31 Assam Rifles of 26 sector under HQ IGAR (S) apprehended a drug peddler from the general of Khudengthabi yesterday.
The PRO IGAR (S) in a statement said that the drug peddler was apprehended during an operation launched at the area from a Maruti Van bearing number AS-01K-7060 traveling fro Imphal to Moreh.
The individual is identified to be one Ngampao Khongsai, 45, s/o (L) Otkhothong of Saijang, PO Saikul. From him 1.260 kgs of Opium was recovered and he along with the seized item has been handed over to Custom office, Moreh, it said.
