IMPHAL, June 20: In an interaction organised by 28 Assam Rifles in Lilong Post the commander 9 Sector AR shared the challenges and problems faced by the locals and exhorted the locals to be self reliant and develop their own resources.
According to a release of the AR, the locals comprised of local leaders, meirapaibis and people from all walks of life.
It further stated that the commander reassured the locals that Assam Rifles will always stand by the people and support them in all spheres of development. He lauded the women folk of Manipur who are not only hard working but also enterprising .He urged the men folk to come out in the forefront and take the lead and take up ventures to generate income and make themselves self reliant, added the release.
He cited examples of Self Help Groups of different parts of the country who have done exceedingly well in their ventures and are living a life at par with government employees and quite a number of them are even doing better. The Commander inquired about the difficulties faced by them in maintaining their livelihood. He also inquired from the locals regarding their problematic areas and reassured them of all possible help at the earliest .The locals were touched by the care and concern shown by the commander. They expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the dedicated efforts of the Assam Rifles to help make their life happier and brighter, added the release.
