IMPHAL, July 28: The Dental College under the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal is likely to start classes from next year, informed a statement issued by the media adviser of the RIMS.
It said almost infrastructures, teaching and non-teaching staff are already there and the permission from the dental council of India is being sought.
It said necessary staff and teaching staff had been appointed. Two assistant professors in Prosthodontics had been appointed. The selection interview was held on June 10 in the office of the Director General of Health Services, New Delhi. The appointed doctors are Dr. Bishnupati Singh of Patna and Dr. Nongthongbam Rajen of Imphal. The process for the appointment of one professor of Prosthodontics has been initiated, it informed.
The dental council of India may give the permission to start the first year class from next year in view of the preparedness in the college, further adds the statement.
