IED blast in Imphal, 4 feared dead

At least four persons including a student were killed and a few others injured when a powerful bomb exploded near an educational institution in Imphal West district of Manipur this afternoon.
Suspected militants tied the bomb to a two wheeler and it exploded at around 2 PM killing four persons on the spot, official sources said.
The injured were admitted to hospital, they said, adding police have rushed to the spot.
No group has claimed responsibility so far.

Imphal: Four people lost their lives and many were left injured when a powerful IED exploded in a crowded market place in downtown Imphal.
As per initial reports, the blast occurred at the Sangakham market near to the Don Bosco school. The place is said to have been very crowded at the time of the incident. An Indian Oil depot is also said to be there in the vicinity.
Manipur director general of Police J Joykumar confirmed to a news channel that four people have lost their lives and there is a possibility of the toll going up by atleast one. He also said that, initial investigations suggest that the IED was kept in a scooter.

Such things are the greatest opportunity to find out the holes in the administration and police techniques in the state. There is lack of technology in administration in terms of technique and infrastructure. Example: there is no database of peoples of Manipur, there is no use of application of technology in Police.
