High level meeting to discuss scarcity of commodities

IMPHAL, Sept 12: Taking serious note of the problems being faced by the common people in terms of scarcity and abnormal price hike of essential commodities in the state due to the economic blockade imposed along the national highways, a high level state official meeting is going to be convened under the chairmanship of state chief secretary at his office chamber at Old Secretariat at 10 am tomorrow.

According to an official source, the high level meeting will also be attended by DGP Y Joykumar Singh, commissioner CAF & PD H Imocha Singh,  director CAF & PD, Dr. M Yaiskul Meetei, state Law secretary  Y Romesh, chief engineer works,  general manager IOC , officials of FCI and the officers of BRO for having extensive discussions on the existing problems in terms of scarcity of essential items caused due to the imposition of economic blockade along the national highways.

The meeting will dwell on possible measures to be taken up by the departments concerned to restore normal stocks of the essential commodities in the state as per the need of the common people.

The official source further mentioned that a clear cut strategies for normal maintenance of essential items, provision smooth road conditions and adequate provisions of security forces along the national highways for the protections of transporters of the state will be chalked out during the high level meeting tomorrow.
