IMPHAL, Dec 30: A 45 member team of experts from diverse fields will be exploring the historical sites of Songku and Songphu vum of Chandel district for ten days starting March 15, 2012.
The exploration will be a joint venture of the Manipur University and DM College of Science and the team will be supported by experts from different field.
The historical sites of Songku and Songphu, which has a lot of geo-archaeological evidence of South East Asia and Manipur had never been explored by explorers or adventurers till date and experts of the venture expect a new chapter of Manipur history could be created after the exploration.
Dr L Kunjeswori Devi, Archeologist, dept. of History, Manipur University will be coordinator cum technical in-charge of the venture.
