KCP (MC) greets 2012 with three day public curfew

IMPHAL, Dec 30: The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (Military Affairs) has imposed a public curfew for three days beginning from 5am of December 31 to 5am of January 2, 2012 throughout the state.

A statement of its secretary information & publicity, military affairs, KCP, Paikhomba Meitei, while announcing the public curfew said no individual shall be allowed to neither organise group feast nor come out to the street with intoxicants or use of addictic drugs.

The curfew however will not cover essential services like fire service, water supply, religious ceremonies etc, the release added.

Citing reason for imposing public curfew, the KCP(MC) statement said there is no meaning of enjoying non-indigenous festivities amidst revolutionary movement being launched in the state.

Stating the government of India has been imposing several types of psychological strategies and warfare to destroy fabrics of the Manipuri society and also to contain revolutionary movement, the KCP(MC) maintain that drug warfare and medical warfare are currently in force in Manipur by agents of India.

It has further informed intending candidates of the ensuing Manipur legislative assembly election not to woo voters with intoxicants or addictive drugs, the KCP(MC) statement also urged parents and guardians of young voters to take care of their children from participating in election related activities.
