IMPHAL, Dec ember 21: MLA of Hiyanglam assembly constitution during the second day of the 12 session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly today had sought attention of the concerned authority to take up necessary action regarding contamination of the Kakching River.
The MLA alleged that the water of the Kakching River have been contaminated mainly due to throwing of poisonous liquid by anti-socials for ulterior motives.
Taking opportunity of the Zero Hour in the House, Opposition leader Radhabinod Koijam also asked the state government to bring an amicable solution regarding the cease work being launched by the government employees that has severely affected the normal workings at various government departments.
Henglep MLA Doukhomang Khongsai had also drawn the attention of the government to look into the matter of scarcity of water in Lamphel area including his residential quarter.
In the meantime, state power minister Phungjathang Tonsing tabled the Annual Report, 2010-11 of the Joint Electricity Regulation Commission for the state of Manipur and Mizoram while Radhabinod Koijam, chairmen of the PAC of the Manipur Legislative Assembly also presented the 35th report of the PAC, 2011-12.
