IMPHAL, Dec 27: Residents of Sawombung-Wairi area in Imphal east panic following an accidental firing of a mortar bomb which exploded at residential area.
Sources said a bomb exploded at the residential area of Wairi village this afternoon around 4pm which was likely to be misdirected by security personnel as a firing range is located nearby the village.
Though there were no reports of human casualty from the blast, some portion of a house at Wairi village suffered minor damages.
