IMPHAL, January 21: Discovering the movement of foreigners without valid documents at Tegnoupal of Chandel district, troops of 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector launched an operation in the area and apprehended three Myanmar nationals from a Maruti van bearing registration number MN 04A 0832 yesterday. The apprehendees were identified as Mintun,30, son of Laung, Phoekyaw, 32, son of Tunwin and Mr Suniwin, 38, son of Ukyi. All of these were residents of Tamu, Myanmar and were handed over to Tegnoupal police station.
In yet another incident, troops of 31 Assam Rifles launched an operation at Khudengthabi and apprehended three Myanmar nationals without valid documents. They were identified as Alam Kumar, 38, son of Noor Ahmed, Abu Ahmed, 38, son of Abdulali and Abdulla, 25, son of late Gony Dulhini, all residents of Rakhine,Myanmar were handed over to Moreh police station.
