IMPHAL, January 20: The Bhartiya Janata Party today released its Vision 2025 at Hotel Nirmala at a function graced by BJP National President Nitin Gadkari; National Spokesperson Prakash Javedkar; State BJP President Sh. Shantikumar Sharma and Retd. Col. H. Bhubon.
Speaking at the function today, Nitin Gadkari said that the BJP would give its priority on eradicating poverty in Manipur. He said, “The unemployment of the youth of the state is due to the poor economic policies of the earlier SPF government.” He further mentioned that the development of the state would need efficient systems of water, power, road and communication which were lacking in Manipur.
“BJP will strengthen the handloom and handicraft sector in Manipur to encourage its rich traditional designs but also to look at alternative employment options,” said Gadkari.
He also accused the state government of being known for its corrupt practices, adding that the Congress led government at the Center is also known as the most corrupt government.
The BJP’s Vision 2025, a 45 page document prepared after a series of consultations with various stakeholders outlines various key issues.
Among others, the document mentions areas for enhancing connectivity between hill and valley area by building a tunneled roadway from the proposed Imphal Railway station to Lamding, setting up Mini Special Economic Zone in tribal area, creating n independent Loktak Development Authority, setting up food processing centers at Jiribam, Loktak, Moirng and Kakching.
