IMPHAL, Jan 24: The National General Secretary of the BJP Najma Heptullah addressed a press conference today at the BJP office in Imphal. “January 28 is the day when Manipur’s people will have the right to choose the right political party. It is the day when the people’s votes will decide who gets to be in the ruling party,” said Heptullah who urged the people of the state to vote in a non-Congress government.
She further said that it was wrong to say that Manipur was a developed state, “There is development only in Imphal areas and in places where the ruling MLAs and Ministers live.” Najma Heptullah also urged for a free and free election saying, “let there be no threat or bullets, let it only be the ballot.”
Prof. H.Tiken, Vice President of the BJP Manipur Unit who also addressed the media highlighted a media story aired on CNN-IBN, a national TV channel that questioned the asset of ruling MLAs and Ministers of the outgoing government. He further appealed to the Election Commission of India to take note of the media story.
