UKHRUL, Jan 20: As a part of its anti-drug and alcohol drive, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong consigned to flame about 200 litres of local-made liquor and a bag full of yeast (hamei) at Phungreitang here at around 3pm this afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, a search team of the students’ body waylaid a 207 DI at Nungshang Kong, 18 kms from here, at around 10.30pm yesterday, and discovered the prohibited items from the vehicle which was on its way to Ukhrul.
After a stern warning, a fine of Rs 1500 was imposed on the three men who were pulled up along with the seized items by the student activists.
