DIMAPUR, Jan 20: The Khole-Kitovi faction of the NSCN said today that it would not `interfere` in the Manipur assembly elections.
In a statement made available to Newmai News Network tonight, the NSCN-Khole/Kitovi group, also known as GPRN/NSCN, said that as per the resolution of the outfit`s `cabinet meeting` held today, it will not interfere in the Manipur polls.
“Naga peopel have been struggling for their right to self determination and it will be a betrayal if GPRN/NSCN fights for an Indian political party,” the outfit said while adding, “GPRN/NSCN will not be lured into supporting one Indian political party within the Indian Constitution because our commitment is to the Naga people and our right is outside the parameter of Indian Constitution. Participating in Indian elections will not bring a political solution for the Nagas.”
The NSCN faction headed by Kitovi and Khole further said that there is no authorization or endorsement on any of its officials, either in the civil or military, to represent the outfit for or against any political party or candidate in the forthcoming Manipur elections.
“Regional authorities or Naga Army in southern Nagaland (Naga areas in Manipur) are cautioned against tarnishing the good image of the government (the outfit`s government),” the NSCN-Kitovi/Khole said.
