IMPHAL, Jan 23: Two more bombs were found today at the residence of one BJP candidate and one Congress worker.
The first bomb was found at the residence of Kshetrigao BJP candidate Thingbaijam Ibosana at Top Awang Leikai Tinseed Road at around 5: 30 am.
The bomb was planted inside a can along with a cell phone. Police have recovered the bomb and later detonated it safely.
The second bomb (hand grenade) was found at the residence of one Congress worker of Wangoi assembly constituency, namely Yumnam Jineshwar of Irom Meijrao Maning Leikai at around 8 am.
In another firing incident at the residence of Tengnoupal Congress candidate DK Korungthang yesterday night at around 9 pm, a man identified as Momo Tarao, 34, was injured critically. He sustained one bullet injury on his back. He is currently under treatment at Shija Hospitals, Langol.
It may be mentioned that five workers of Korungthang were injured yesterday while some armed miscreants fired indiscriminately during an election campaign at Machi Khunou.
