IMPHAL, January 12: Manipur State Trinamool Congress president Kim Gangte clarified to the media regarding the debacle which took place regarding the allocation of party tickets resulting in the vandalizing of state Trinamool Congress party office located at Hotel Excellency last Tuesday.
Addressing mediapersons at Manipur Press Club today, Kim said that the final list of Trinamool candidates have been finalized from the party office at the centre and not fixed by the state counterparts inclusive of herself and other state Trinamool officials.
She said that there is no question of favouritism or bribes being taken regarding the allocation of party tickets for the aspiring candidates of the state.
Detailing on the objective of the political party, she mentioned that a total of 47 candidates have been fielded in the state elections in both hills and for valley areas and 15 candidates will contest for the hill areas. The main agenda of the Trinamool is to prevent corruption, bring unity and a harmonious co-existence among the different ethnic communities,she said.
SouravChakrabarty ,Returing Officer of the party added that the Trinamool will release its election manifesto shortly and the President of AITC, Mamta Banerjee along with other MPs will arrive in the state before the election. He further said that the state has been prioritized by the AITC among the north eastern states.
