IMPHAL, Jan 25: Women folks of Nambol Kongkham Mayai Leikai today staged a sit-in-protest condemning the firing incident at the residence of Chongtham Amubi last night.
Speaking to media persons, Amubi stated that some unidentified persons came to her residence last night to enquire about her son Dhamen. The miscreants broke into the house forcefully and began to search for Dhamen.
The intruders fired three rounds when Amubi alerted her neighbours.
A wallet and an empty case of bullet were recovered by the family members and handed over to Nambol Police through social welfare minister N Loken.
On inquiry, one rifleman of 3rd IRB, namely RK Ibomcha, s/o (late) RK Khoimu of Nambol Thiyam Leikai who is currently posted as an escort with MPP candidate Thounaojam Chaoba of Nambol assembly constituency.
