13 AR remembers contributions to NE on its Raising Day

IMPHAL, Feb 17: The 13 Assam Rifles celebrated its 54th Raising Day on February 15.

According to an official statement, during the observation, col Ajay Chowdhry, PRO defence stated that, the battalion has rendered invaluable service in guarding North East frontiers, maintaining internal security and carrying out various civic action programmes for the welfare of the people in the remote parts of North East during the past 54 years.

“The rich and glorious history of 13 Assam Rifles is replete with heroic actions. The unit has carried out various MCA projects for the betterment of the people of the state. It continues to enjoy the confidence bestowed by the people for their work and has identified itself with the locals by helping them in their progress i.e in the true spirit of “Friends of the Hill People”, he stated further added the statement.  

In a span of half a century, the unit has excelled in all professional spheres and has earned a plethora of accolades and decorations evolving into a true force responding to all challenges with élan, the release asserted.
