AMTU welcomes electorate photo comparison

IMPHAL, Feb 24(NNN): The All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) Friday expressed profound gratitude to both the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Chief Election Officer (CEO) of Manipur for taking up an innovative mechanism like the electorate photo comparison task during the recent polls in order to yearn an ideal democratic ideology.

AMTU is deeply overwhelmed with the idea that 60 MLAs will be genuinely representing the people of the State, a release jointly issued by its general secretary, Romeo Bungdon and secretary public affairs, Wilson Gangmei said.

It said the new government regardless of which it may form, is urged to think about food security in the State which may be fulfilled by method of practical agriculture, the mother of economy.

The new government must emphasize and facilitate an affordable education system, and that socio-economy and civilization have law and order implication, it added.

AMTU supplicates all the election workers of various political parties and their respective popular voters to refrain from creating enmity and instead take this election as a friendly football match for a democratic civilization, the release added, saying such enmity may attract political deficit and that monetary deficit is can be mended while political deficit may not be.
