IMPHAL, Feb 10: A statement of the Apunba Lup mentions that behind the veil of the AFSPA,security forces have been continuesly carrying out various atrocities. There has been countless cases of forced dissappearances.
In all cases of human right violations, proper justice have never been meted out to the concerned security forces. Even after the United Nations have been intimated about such crimes being commited in the name of containing counter insurgency, the Indian government has been sidelining the issue and still continue to impose the draconian law.
It mentions that after the fake encounter of July 23 in which Sanjit and Rabina were killed,there has been a spurt of such mindless violence since the beginning of this year and the deaths of Puni,Bheigo,Anil,Md Abdul,Jiten,David,Jayanta and Sana can be mentioned. In the stated cases they were killed in encounters with the security forces but the family members of the victims clams that they have been killed without reason and in fake incidents.Such random acts of violence is condemned by the Apunba Lup and awaiting the time to take up proper measures againts such ,it said.
The Apunba Lup further states that it is high time that the concerned authorities take up proper remedial actions to prevent extra judicial killings or the public will rise again to meet the situation.
