BOSEM secretary, Rajmohan Singh stated that the students numbering about 7000 from 28 schools have been barred from the examination as they do not have any valid ground to appear the examination in the hill centres.
It may be mentioned that the proscribed outfit KYKL had earlier banned these 7000 students from appearing the HSLC examination in the hill centres.
Prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 have been imposed in and around the examination centres to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
BOSEM secretary further stated that the board is all prepared to conduct the HSLC Examination for more than 30,000 candidates in 25 Imphal centres and 65 private centres across the state. 21 flying squads have also been set up by the BOSEM to check use of unfair means during the examination.
Meanwhile, hhe Higher Secondary Examination, 2012 conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur has commenced today in various centres across the state.
The Council has deployed 26 flying squads to monitor 19,672 students appearing the examination.
In the meantime, the students have expressed their discontentment over the erratic power supply claiming it has affected their studies. Manipur is reeling under prolonged power crisis with power supply for about two to three hours a day.
Manipur unlike other states has a culture of mass copying in the past. Notes or textbooks are being supplied by friends and family members gathered outside the school campus. However, the trend has been reduced due to intervention of militants and introduction of prohibitory orders by the government. Today, many parents are of the opinion that such prohibitory act is not necessary as it affects the students’ psychology.
On the first day of the council examination, 14 candidates have been expelled from the examination for using unfair means.
Very nonsense to BOSEM as well as others that is opposing. What is the loses to the Nation from appearing exam to Hill centers? It is irresponsible attitude of Mr. Rajmohon Singh and his collaborators.Yes the students, might be entered from a wrong way, but it is the only BOSEM who can rectify and generalize the way. I think all the students (7000) are non but our wards.Simply they might think of a little hope from such exam. I don’t think they would be become an Engineer, Doctor, IAS officer from this Exam, but for their little hope of livelihood,changing their life is expected.
