IMPHAL, Feb 25: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today met the members of High Court Bar Association, Manipur in a joint inspection of the new High Court Complex for a first hand account of issues brought forward by the association.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Speaker I Hemochandra, works minister K Ranjit, Justice T Nandakumar Singh and other important officials.

Justice T Nandakumar Singh explained that the High Court project was conceptualized and executed with the knowledge of the members of High Court Bar Association through several circulars.

Members of the association had previously inspected the ongoing projects without raising any issue. On the other hand, N Kumarjit Singh, president of HCBA, denied that members of the association had knowledge of the number and size of rooms to be allocated to them beforehand and that they had inspected only the interior decorations on previous visits.

The exchanges were, however, very cordial which ended with an understanding to temporarily accommodate members of the Bar Association and its staff in various rooms across the complex.

It may be noted that the main components of the new High Court Complex are near completion except for the residential bungalows of judges which will take more time to be completed.
