IMPHAL, Feb 9:The United Revolutionary Front has appealed to the general public not to associate themselves with military civic action programme labeling it as a deceitful trap by the enemy and not sincere assistance.
It pointed out that the program is carried out under suitable themes like friends of the hills in the hills, friends of the valley there and guardians of youth according to demand of the situation.
In a press statement issued by its information and publicity secretary, the URF denounced the integration tours organized by Red Shield Division as an eye wash by the imperialist force to put a cover on their sins and be-dazzled the youths with the glitter of metropolitans like Bombay and Delhi and shatter the sense of pride for their less privileged places of origin.
What is the logic of partaking in the tours while the same sponsors are in the meantime unleashing terror and killing our brothers and sisters, the outfit questioned. Remember the atrocities they have committed in the past and do not fall prey to their deception, it warned.
The regular publication of reports on the MCA programmes by daily newspapers as if the villagers, NGOs and other organisation cannot function without assistance from the central forces underpin the policies of the imperialist regime, it alleged. Those persons who have been won over with food and drinks by the army and used to file biased report against the insurgents have a reason to act more carefully.
The people should be mindful of the fact that the Indian army is not a centre for seeking news, employment, furniture or sports items and the MCA are influenced by several selfish and clandestine motives . As such, continuation of socializing and befriending them is unadvisable.
It cautioned the public on the escalation of killings of innocent youths and fake encounters which are being reported without any break after a temporary hold back due to the assembly elections.
