IMPHAL, Feb 24: Ex Member of Parliament from the state, BD Behring on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the chief minister appealing to direct the government officials posted in the hill districts of the state to station themselves at their respective places of posting within three months’ time.

It has stated that on failure of the government to fulfill the demand, the ex MLA  alongwith his well-wishers will have no option other than to resort to fast unto death starting from May till their demands are met with.

The memorandum has stated that most offices in the hill districts are locked and that the officials are found to be functioning from their respective houses in Imphal or wherever their houses are located.

Further in the memorandum, the ex MP has stated that engineering offices like PWD divisions of Chandel, Tamenglong, Senapati, Ukhrul and DRDA among other departments are functioning from Imphal hqs.

Such pathetic conditions are prevailing in the hill district as the heads of various government departments are refusing to acknowledge the reality and in such a situation, no progress and development is visible in the hill districts, the memorandum has stated.

It has also resulted in the hills districts of the state being backward in every sector without getting the opportunity of any development as compared to other parts of the country, the memorandun added.
