HSSLCE candidate among injured in bus mishap at Sugnu, could lose foot

IMPHAL, Feb 23: A steering wheel failure caused a 407 canter to skid along the Imphal-Sugnu road at Wangjing Khunou, injuring all its passengers including a three year old boy this noon at 1pm.

According to a source, the vehicle rolled thrice before coming to a stop.

Four including a father and son duo among the injured have been reported to be serious and admitted at hospitals in the capital, while the others are being treated at Kakching.

One of the seriously injured identified as Abujam Arun, 18 son of Inaocha of Pangaltabi Mayai Leikai is presently undergoing treatment inside the ICU of Shija Hospital and Research Institute. His condition is serious at the moment and his left foot could be amputated, said a reliable source.

The source further identified Naoba as a class XII student and was returning after giving his exam at Kakching Khunou College.

The three others serious injured are presently admitted at RIMS. They are identified as Ningthoujam Naoba, 18 son of Ranjit of Pangaltabi Makha Leikai, Leishangthem Ibotomba, 42, son of Tomal of Kakching and his infant son of three years Dharma.

The other injured passengers of the ill-fated vehicle are stated to be admitted at the nearby rural hospital.
