IMPHAL, Feb 14: The apex body of the Nagas, United Naga Council (UNC) has decided to call off this year’s state level celebration of Lui-Ngai-Ni, the seed-sowing festival of the Nagas.
According to top functionaries of some Naga organizations, the UNC has taken the decision of calling up the state level celebration in view of the unending issues of the Nagas, especially the demand for alternative arrangement.
However, the village chiefs have been asked by the UNC to celebrate the festival in their own villages, the functionaries added.
The UNC has organized the state level Lui-Nga–Ni festival for the last many years in different hill districts of the state.
