IMPHAL, Feb 19: After the UNLF yesterday, it is the turn of the Revolutionary People’s Front to lambast the 36 AR personnel for unleashing terror on the villagers of Sehlon without ascertaining the truth behind its action.
In a press release issued today, the RPF described as inhumane the reaction of the paramilitary on the villagers of Sehlon which followed the death of a non-local supplier at the unit. The front claimed that the motive behind the murder was a dispute between non-local businessmen over the running of the canteen in the unit and the killer himself was one of them. It further declared that the front and its armed unit, the PLA, is in a prepared state to take on the Indian force if they behave disrespectfully with any community residing in Manipur.
Commenting on the operation of non-local businessmen in the state, the release mentioned that after the influx in the valley they are setting their eyes on the interior hill areas. It presupposed that if Sehlon villagers were suffering the toll of death of one non-local businessman, the proportionate repercussion will meant total annihilation of several villages if 5/10 non-locals had died.
Alleging that the Indian security forces are trying to drive a wedge between the people residing in the hills and the valley, the front urged the former to be wary of non-Manipuri businessmen and not to welcome them to their villages.
The RPF continued the recent tirade by proscribed outfits against the military civic action programmes describing it as a gimmick by dishonest military to befriend the local population. However, the security personnel will sting back without forgiveness, it warned, in case of commission of a minor offence even by mistake.
