Senapati hosts youth integration camp

IMPHAL, Feb 26: A National Integration Camp being organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Senapati till March 2, 2012 commenced yesterday at the training Hall, Directorate of Art and Culture, Palace Compound, Imphal. Around 150 youth from Nagaland, Assam, Bihar, Mizoram, and West Bengal and from other districts of Manipur participated the camp. The inaugural function held on February 26, 2012 and the dignitaries on the occasion were P.K. Jha, Deputy Commissioner Senapati, L. Sudhajit Singh, District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer, Senapati and Jackie Ruivah, Zonal Director, NYKS, Imphal Zone as Chief Guest, Guest of Honor and President respectively.

K. Kumar Singh, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Senapati in his welcome and keynote address emphasized Nation Building and brotherhood among the people of the country. India being a country of diversity comprises of ethnic groups, caste, creed, religion, language etc. The National Integration Camp was to create a nationwide opportunities for the young people of different states to discuss and develop for better understandings and to promote national unity, peace and brotherhood for a stronger Nation.

L. Sudhajit Singh, District Youth Affairs and Sports officer, Senapati made in his speech that we are proud to be an Indian where we have glorious past and present through the great sons and daughters of the nation. He exhorted to the youths to live up as a responsible citizen and follow the footsteps of our past great leaders to build a better nation to live in peace and harmony. P.K. Jha, the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati stressed on the different habits of different place and people and to understand the differences for common adjustment as a family and nation. He further made convincing points to the youth present on the function that, value your time, do not take things for granted, do not harm others, and work honestly towards one’s goal for the benefit of the society and nation. JakieRuivah, the Zonal Director, Imphal Zone made in her Speech that youth symbolizes the most dynamic and vibrant energy of the society. And a nation cannot strive towards development unless its young people are properly empowered. Youth empowerment is the paramount important for a better peace, love and social harmony for our country and strengthening communal harmony and national unity for development.

The inaugural function ended with the colorful performance from the state of Nagaland and folk dance, folk song and martial arts from Imphal and thrilling song was sang by the Artiste of song and drama division, Government of India, Imphal.
