IMPHAL, Feb 23: The All Manipur Government Graduate Teachers Association organised a special press meet on the theme Strengthening Academic Session-2012, Its Remedial Measures Thereof at Press Club here today.
President of the association, Th Mani, showed appreciation to the director of education (S), W Rajen, on behalf of the graduate teachers for coming out with a tentative seniority list of the teachers and expressed his hope that its finalization will be completed as soon as possible. He listed the advantages of schools having regular administrative head stating that among others it brings better administration and discipline.
He congratulated BoSEM on preparing a suitable time-table for HSLCE which avoided clashing with the Holi festival favouring the candidates. He stated that the dates for all major subjects fall before February 8 on which the festival begins. The changes made to the dates from previous exams can be regarded as a victory for the association which passed a resolution for a similar schedule during its last general body meeting and made a request to the board.
Vice-president of AMGOGTA, Y Premila emphasized the importance of sorting out the seniority list, rectification of pay anomalies of graduate teachers and bringing a solution to the pending demands of the association.
If correct measures are taken for modernization of the education system and promotion order, the graduate teachers can lift up their sacrifices in imparting their duties of educating masses, agreed many speakers at the programme.
