IMPHAL, Mar 7: The Congress party has begun preparations for forming a new government and elect the leader of the CLP. A reliable source informed IFP that after the reception function of the newly elected 42 Congress candidates at about 1 pm, the Chief Minister Okrq, Ibobi, MPCC president Gaikhangam, AICC general secretary in charge of Manipur Luizinho Faleiro and Health Minister of Assam, Hemanta Biswa Sarma; held a private meeting.
The meeting dwelled on the election of CLP leader and the decision after some deliberation has been handed over to 10 Janpath. The authorization letter for the same has been faxed to the residence of the AICC president today. A report which was prepared in the meeting has also been taken by Hemanta Biswa to Delhi this evening for further perusal to the AICC chief. It is speculated that the CLP leader will be announced within a few days, the source stated.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has formally submitted his resignation letter to the Governor this afternoon ahead of the formation of q new government.
