G Gaikhangam
Born on November 12, 1950 to (late) Khangsinlung at Gaidimjang, Khoupum village in Tamenglong district, Gaikhangam has so far been elected six times to Manipur Legislative Assembly from Nungba assembly constituency. He has been holding the presidential office of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee since 2007.
Gaikhangam had been the minister of state for tribal development, minister of agriculture and soil conservation and also works minister.
He is a bachelor of arts with active interest in social activities.
Thoudam Debendra
Thoudam Debendra was born on November 1, 1941 to (late) Th Surendra at Dibong Ward No. 10, Jiribam. He is a bachelor of arts as well as a law graduate who served as a teacher and advocate before entering into the field of politics.
He was first elected to Manipur Legislative Assembly from Jiribam assembly constituency in 1980. He has been re-elected to the state assembly six times and served as minister of state for education, minister of public health engineering, law and legislative affairs, speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, minister of education, law and legislative affairs, art and culture, minister of works, housing, law and election, minister for works, revenue, law and legislative affairs and also minister of forest and environment.
Debendra was also a member of Manipur Bar Association. He has been to UK, US, Switzerland and West Indies.
Phungzathang Tonsing
A social worker born to (late) T Tualpum on July 14 at Salem House, Paite Veng, Imphal, Phungzathang Tonsing has been actively involved in social and church services. He was first elected to Manipur Legislative Assembly on INC ticket in 1980 and served as the minister of state for medical, sports, publicity and tourism.
Phungzathang has been re-elected to Manipur Legislative Assembly five times and held the post of the minister for health and tourism, power, tribal development, irrigation and flood control, transport and power.
He is a bachelor of arts who has been in foreign countries like US, UK, France, Thailand and Myanmar.
