KPA claims attack on UKLF

IMPHAL,March 25:The attack on the UKLF camp located at Gamphazol Village, Chandel district, in the wee hours of  March 22 was carried out by a mobile task force of the Kuki People`s Army (KPA), the armed wing of Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF), a statement by KNLF/ KPA publicity secretary Kolphe has claimed.

It has further stated that the attack was carried out, as a warning to the UKLF for carrying out heinous crimes against the Kuki people.

The Mobile Task Force of KPA would have slaughtered the UKLF cadres posted at Gamphazol village, but, KPA do not have intentions to kill the innocent Kuki soldiers who are misguided by the Indian occupation forces, it said.

It warned that the UKLF should stop crimes against the Kuki peoples in particular and against the peoples of Manipur in general. Otherwise more dreadful attack shall be carried out in future. KPA also warns UKLF to refrain collaborating with the Indian security forces.

The release said that the outfit is struggling for the sake of the people and have firm belief in building up a strong Manipuri nation. It appeals to the Kuki peoples to support the struggle by lending assistance to KNLF/KPA
