MCP decree on private schools opening hostels

IMPHAL, Mar 21: A statement by Maoist Communist Party has stated that students have been exploited in the state by charging exorbitant amounts furthering the business and proprietary interests of the school owners in the name of providing quality education.

The release by Nonglen Meitei, secretary of publicity and propaganda further stated that certain schools have opened boarding’s for the students and kept too many students in the hostels.

Some are packed and above the limit which is convenient for lodging of a student. It has mentioned that Little Master of Samurou, KM Blooming School of Khangabok, Slopeland School at Khongjom are not fair in registering their students for lodging and are jam packed at present.

The parents of the students need to form associations and deliberate on what is the best for their wards and also highlight their grievances.

The stance of the Maoist is based on correcting the wrongs afflicting the society and take up corrective action. The outfit is not inclined on monitory benefits, the release said.

Further, the rates of admission and tuition fees of Sishu Nistha Niketan, Mega Manipur School and UNNACO will be fixed after consultation with the parents’ associations and have 48 hours to inform the outfit. Further complaint will not be endorsed, it said.

The Maoist release said that the outfit aims to bring about a change in the education system where the common people have means to provide their children with quality education. The people should have equal opportunity to bring up their children irrespective of the financial conditions, the release stated.
