IMPHAL, April 23: Two unidentified persons suspected to be militants placed a Chinese hand grenade on a table at the front office of the RIMS Administrative Block under Lamphel police station, police said today.
The chowkidar of the RIMS Administrative Block found the bomb lying on a table at its front office at 9:30 am following which the police was informed amidst the panic caused by the event.
A police bomb squad removed the Chinese hand grenade at around 11:30 am and later defused it somewhere on the roadside of Langol here, police added.
No one has claimed responsibility for the bomb.
