IMPHAL, April 11: The stage for the third edition of the Chinjak Festival-International is all but set, with the mega festival of foods scheduled for April 20 to April 29 at the Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen campus with more international flavours like never before and more attractions to make the event all the more savoury for the food lovers of the state.

The festival will be organized by the Innovative Youth Society in association with the department of Tourism, government of Manipur with the Imphal Free Press as media partners. This year’s edition will be introducing more attractions aiming to draw more visitors. The added attractions will be a public kitchen-which will be open on all days of the festival from 9am to 7m- where the visitors can prepare their choice of dishes and a Chinzak games.

Other main attractions would be Ngaton, Pengba and Ngakra dishes. Other indigenous local cuisines including non-veg and veg will also be available at the food festival.

Various international dishes are set to compete with indigenous and traditional local cuisines during the festivals.

The Innovative Youth Society convened a press conference this evening at the Hotel Imphal announcing the various delicious cuisines which will be on offer for the visitors to savour.

Speaking at the conference, Lelina Th of the organizers stated that 40 unique stalls will be open to the public with nine to be occupied by food stalls from eight South East Asian countries.

International cuisines that can be savour during the festival include Korean food which will be on offer during the festival are Kimchi-fermented vegetables and Kimbab-seaweeds rice cake, Chinese dishes like Swim badder-fish badder soup, fish boiled, chicken fried with ginger and golden brown egg-egg boiled with herbs.

Other international cuisines are Lao food with som tum-papaya salad, Spicy minced pork salad, Num Tok-spicy slice pork salad, Vietnam with Pho noodle Soup-noodle soup, Vietnam Spring roll, Chicken Bagasse-chicken fried in bagasse.

Thai stall will have Pat Thai-noodle dried fry, fish fried rice,, pork satae-pork grill, Fish Salad.

The Tibetan staal will have Lambhi-steam flour with spices and a whole gamut of other Tibetan food varieties.

Singapore food stall will have shark fin soup, four season fish, Singapore curry soup, chicken gravy with steam rice, Hotboy with big sausage. Hongkong stall will have Pork Stew with rice, chicken stew with rice, three pork spicy, chicken spicy.
