DESAM inspects college

IMPHAL, April 12: Democratic Student`™s Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has appealed the State Government to look into the matters regarding vacancy of teachers, infrastructure, equipment etc. needed for proper functioning of the colleges to bring development of higher education in Manipur.

According to press release, as a part of their ongoing effort to bring better education in Manipur, DESAM has visited Nongmeikapam Gopal College, Lamphel, as a part of an inspection tour.

During their visit, the DESAM team found that the college was in a very bad condition and also not functioning properly.

Only 5 or 6 teachers come to college on time and there were no evidence of students attending classes it added.

Meanwhile a separate press release of the student body has stated that a meeting was held today at DESAM Thoubal District Council office with DESAM H/O president and students of the district. During the meeting Kh Kamaldar Meitei, KMC, Kh Rabi Meitei, YK College and Ksh Ajay Singh, KMC were elected as president, vice-president and general secretary respectively with other 9 executives for the term 2012-13 of DESAM Thoubal District Council.
