IMHAL, April 11: The Indian Oil Corporation Limited, All Manipur Petroleum Products Transporter Association, retail outlet dealers and All Manipur Petroleum Tankers Drivers` Union on Wednesday resolved their differences over mismanagement of fuel unloading system at IOC depot at Sangakpham, ending a four-day long stalemate that caused shutting down of almost all the filling stations in the state.

This understanding came after a joint meeting of the representatives of IOCL, AMPPTA, RO dealers and AMPTDU held at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex this morning.

During the meeting, it was agreed that a proper serial unloading system of fuel will be maintained at IOC depot, Imphal, and the transporter associations will further urged the concerned authority and the state government regarding the present parking area of oil tankers.

It was also agreed that RO earmarked TT be allowed to get supplies from Imphal depot based on the indents of such RO dealers, and quality and quantity policy will be continued to follow before supplying the product to the ROs for all TTs including bridging.

The meeting ended accordingly and all the representatives agreed on restoring normalcy of POL supplies in the interest of the public.

Meanwhile, the All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers’ Union (AMRTDMWU) today condemned the act of agitating oil tanker drivers, saying such strike which causes hardship to the public is wrong.

AMRTDMWU accused the oil tanker drivers of acting against the rules and regulations of all the driver unions in the Northeast and termed the strike as a “vested interest.”

The union also appealed all the drivers to resume their duty and restore normalcy in the interest of the public, according to a statement.
