IMPHAL, April 21: The Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwor has paid homage to all the heroes who had laid down their lives for their mother country in the battle of Khongjom in a message released on Saturday.
Acknowledging that it was one of the rare battles in the history of the world, Lokeshwor said, “We should never forget Paona Brajabashi, Chinglensana and many sons of Manipur who had sacrificed their lives in the battle of Khongjom, April 23, 1891 to defend their mother country.
In the message, the Speaker also mentioned, “Let us sacrifice for the future generation by forgetting about being people of different colours and creed in order to bring a peaceful and stable Manipur.
