IMPHAL, Apr 24: The militant outfit Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCP) today claimed responsibility for the lethod bomb attack at the house of Oinam Ibom at Taothong under Lamphel police station.
In a statement issued today the Maoists said, it came to know of the reason and circumstances of the recent arrests of its cadres and people from one its shelters including a huge cache of arms and ammunition after an investigation was carried out by the outfit concerning the attempt to curb the outfit in Lamshang area.
The investigations revealed the presence of a gang out to root out revolutionaries in cahoots with police commandos, said a statement signed by its secretary, publicity and propaganda, Nonglen Meitei.
The statement said, the first lethod fired at the house of Oinam Ibom of Taothong Apeibi last night did not explode but the second exploded without reaching its target.
It further warned that those who are involved in the anti- Maoist activities would not be spared.
