MLA inspects water scarcity

LAMKA April 14: Singngat MLA Ginsuanhau today made a tour of his constituency and oversaw the ground reality of the constant water problems faced by the people of the town during such lean season. The MLA was accompanied by officials of PHED Churachandpur.

Following his inspection tour, the MLA and the officials suggested that at least three summer saver pumps would be installed at three different locations so as to help the people tide over the acute shortage of water faced mainly during the summer.

This side by side with the existing facilities will be enough to provide the immediate needs of the people said the MLA talking to this correspondent on the sidelines of the visit.

The MLA then proceeded to the water treatment site for augmentation of water supply which has been constructed under the NLCPR 2011-12 for which an estimate of Rs 2.04 crore has been reportedly sactioned.

Briefing the media persons at the site the MLA said about Rs 64 crore for the purcahse of GI pipes and iron bars and other materials have been sanctioned and already used for the purpose.

He further stated that he would ensure that qualities in the constructions are maintained so that the scheme can serve the real purpose.
