Moreh van associations bar other passenger vehicles on NH 39

MOREH, April 2: Tata Sumo and other van passenger vehicles in Moreh have decided to bar any kind of passenger vehicles other than Tata Sumo and vans to ply along National Highway 39, Imphal-Moreh road on Monday.

The decision came after a joint meeting of All Moreh-Imphal Van Drivers and Owners Welfare Association, Moreh, Indo-Myanmar Road Self-employed Van Owners and Drivers Association and Moreh Block Van Owners’ Welfare Association here this afternoon at the office of Moreh Block Van Owners’ Association.

The meeting decided to bar any kind of passenger vehicles other than Tata Sumos and vans to ply on Imphal-Moreh road with effect from today.

The three bodies also appealed to the concerned department of the state government to stop issuing further permission to other vehicles in view of the woe faced by passenger vehicles servicing along the route.

At the meeting, which was attended by presidents of the three associations, it was decided that all ECO car passengers would be barred on the National Highway.

It has further warned that if anybody is found moving by car passenger, incase of any untoward incident, the sole responsibility would be that of the vehicle owner.
