IMPHAL, April 19: The inauguration of the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Imphal east today has been made possible by the hard work of the volunteers and officials of the Nehru Yuva Kendra, stated state Tourism Commissioner KK Chettry.
He was attending the inaugural of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Imphal east as a special guest at the new DRDA hall located at Porompat.
He further expressed that the youth Kendra has been brought to the district with the main aim of encouraging good discipline and behaviour amongst the youth of the district.
Good discipline and behaviour is as much needed as good education for proper grooming of a youth, added the IAS officer.
Meanwhile, DIG S Manglemjao said Manipur has a horde of talented youths and it is the main responsibility of the Nehru Yuva Kendra to foster these talents.
He further elaborated on the benefits that the proper functioning of the Nehru Yuva Kendra in the district will provide for the youths.
Citing the various performances of volunteers during the inauguration ceremony, he added that children should be groomed from the start so as to assure their proper upbringing.
Vice chairman Board of Governor NYKS, New Delhi L Tilotama after inaugurating the NYS Imphal east district, in her addressed said efforts to bring NYKS in the Imphal east district has been undertaken since 1987, which has been achieved today.
She further expressed hope that the NYK will be beneficial for the youths and the various youth clubs of the district.
However she added that if the youths fail to fully utilize the newly inaugurated NYK, the main objectives of opening the office will remain defeated.
She further urged the youths to fully involve in the NYKS to take full advantage from it.
