IMPHAL, April 4: 6/8 Gorkha Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division with ½ FID, 3 CISU in a joint operation on April 3 apprehended two UGs of the proscribed group, RPF (PLA) and UNLF respectively from Keinou of Bishnupur District. The apprehendees were identified as Lance Cpl Premjit alias Zauglem of RPF (PLA) and Lance Cpl Soibam Inaotombi alias Saranacha son of S. Talenjao Singh of UNLP, both residents of Keinou Thoughthak Awang Leikai, Bishnupur District. The apprehended persons revealed that they have joined the proscribed outfit in 1999 and 1997 respectively and was handed over to Bishnupur Police station.
Meanwhile, discovering the movement of UG cadre in Wabagai Kadaichit of Thoubal district, troops of 27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in the area and apprehended one UNLF cadre today. The apprehendee was identified as No.2356 SS Cpl Akoijam Jilagamba Singh alias Angacha, 31, son of AK Yaimama Singh of Wabagai Kadaichit. One 9 mm Pistol was recovered from the apprehendee.
