IMPHAL, April 27: Five student bodies AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SWAK and SUK today expressed serious concern and grief over the recent killing of Richard Loitam in Bangalore.

Richard, a student of Acharya NR School of Architecture, Bangalore was found dead inside his hostel room after a brawl with one of his fellow students on April 18.

The five student organizations called upon the state government to take a big responsibility at the earliest to help find out the actual circumstances which led to the death of Richard and award the culprits under law so as to remove the anguish of the people and his parents, and relatives.

Meanwhile, AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SWAK and SUK also strongly condemned the incident which occurred yesterday when volunteers of MSF were severely beaten up by locals at Sagoltongba under Patsoi police station during a drive on restaurants.

Saying that the drive carried out by MSF under the name “Operation Dark Cabin” should be supported by all the student bodies further condemned the incident and termed it as a challenge to the student community.
