IMPHAL, April 22: The Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services, Manipur organized a three-day training programme for 50 livestock farmers on management of poultry and pigs under Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yojana at Somdal village, Ukhrul district.
The training was concluded yesterday with a function in which M Tuizer, pastor Somdal Baptist Church; Dr Th Devendrakumar, Joint Director, District Veterinary Office Ukhrul and Apam R Shimray, chairman, Somdal Village Authority graced as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively, a release informed.
Speaking at the closing event, M Tuizer said it is a good move of the department to organize such workshop at Somdal as agriculture and animal husbandry are the only means of livelihood in the village.
