AMSU team inspects schools

IMPHAL, May 18: AMSU Imphal East in collaboration with Khundrakpam Kendra Youths’ Organization today inspected all the government schools in Khundrakpam constituency where two educational institutions were found in bad academic atmosphere.

At Khundrakpam Chingkhu High School, it was learnt that only 17 students were present against a total of 66 registered students and that five out of 18 teachers were absent because they have been engaged in ZEO office, AMSU quoted the Head Master of the school as saying.

It was also learnt that the teacher grant, maintenance and school grant were seem to have misused. The school uniforms were not also properly provided to the students, it alleged.

AMSU also said it was quite amazing that the school building was found not maintaining quality.

On the other hand, the same joint team visited another school, Khundrakpam Primary School where only nine students were found present against a total of 40 registered students, while the number of teachers was four.

There was apprehension that the Head Master of the school has misused all the grants, AMSU accused in a release.
