Assam Government has decided to hike the dearness allowance (DA) of its around five lakh employees by seven per cent more with effect from January this year. With this, the DA of the state employees has gone up to 65 per cent.
The decision to hike the DA was taken at a meeting held between Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the Chief Secretary and the members of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) in Guwahati on Tuesday.
